Donald Trump accused his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin of providing little but ‘bulls***’ as peace talks around Ukraine have failed to progress.
The US president ripped Putin during a Cabinet meeting at the White House and said he was considering more sanctions on Russia.
‘We get a lot of bulls*** thrown at us by Putin, for you want to know the truth,’ Trump told reporters.
‘He’s very nice all the time, but it turns out to be meaningless.’

Trump admitted that brokering a ceasefire for the three-year Russia-Ukraine war has been more difficult than he anticipated.
‘It’s turned out to be tougher, but it’s only tougher,’ Trump said.
‘And I will say the Ukrainians were brave, but we gave them the best equipment ever made.’
Asked about a bill proposed in the Senate to increase sanctions on Moscow, Trump replied: ‘I’m looking at it very strongly.’

Trump added that he was ‘very unhappy’ since his phone call with Putin last week, which brought the two sides no closer to peace.
The US president was ‘very disappointed’ with his discussion with Putin on Thursday and said, ‘I don’t think he’s looking to stop’ the war on Ukraine.
‘I was not happy with the conversation,’ Trump reiterated.
On Friday, Trump had a call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, which appeared to go much better.

The two presidents had a ‘very important and fruitful conversation’ around Ukraine’s defense systems and ‘very important and fruitful conversation’, according to a readout that Zelensky shared on social media.
Trump on the campaign trail promised to end the war between Russia and Ukraine within his first 24 hours in office. Instead, the conflict has dragged on more than five months into his second term.
The US president was accused in the past of befriending Putin and turning against Zelensky, but his relationship with the Russian and Ukrainian leaders has been changing week by week.
Trump has also been dealing with other conflicts including the Israel-Hamas war, which has a ceasefire deal on the table in Qatar. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu during a dinner at the White House on Tuesday night presented Trump with a letter nominating him for the Nobel Peace Prize for his work in the proposed deal.
